Nature Fresh is the new compostable film developed by Fabbri Group to respond to the increasingly urgent demand from consumers, the industry and institutions, for packaging materials with minimal impact on the environment. Being a compostable film, Nature Fresh combines its biodegradability characteristics with the properties of transparency, elasticity, breathability and mechanical strength of traditional films. After use it is sent for organic recycling through the flow of domestic or industrial composting, avoiding the long and costly processes associated with the selection and recycling of post-consumption plastics as well as the waste-to-energy treatment of undifferentiated waste.
Nature Fresh is the extensible film with home composting certification (TÜV Austria) and industrial (Consorzio Italiano Compostatori, TÜV Austria, DIN CERTCO for the Seedling brand of European Bioplastics) according to the UNI EN 13432 standard.
Together with the Fabbri Hybrid wrapping machines, Nature Fresh has received the historic and prestigious "Best Packaging Oscar" as the best technological innovation of 2020. He also received the Global bioplastic Award 2021, BIOPOLYMER Innovation Award 2021, the AISOM Innovation Award 2021 and, through the British customer Westaway Sausages, the UK Packaging Awards 2020. Its importance for the entire sector was also underlined by the support received by the European Union Research and Innovation Programme "Horizon 2020".
Already one year after its launch, Nature Fresh had been produced in hundreds of tonnes and tens of thousands of reels, with millions of packs coming onto the market.
Fabbri Group is now developing a new compostable film for MAP packaging as well, a sector where the Group is already well established with various types of Lid film and more than 15 automatic, semi-automatic and manual tray-sealing machines under the CAVECO, TopLid and XPEED brands.
